All Tokaido Shinkansen call at Tokyo Station and Shinagawa. Nagoya Station sits right in the city and connects to the subway for onward travel.
Even on this shorter run you can catch Mt Fuji on the right hand side about 40 minutes out of Tokyo. Choose seats D or E for the view on a clear day.
It is worth reserving in busy holiday periods, though on a quiet midweek trip you can often just walk onto a non reserved car.
Two bags per person up to 30 kg go on the racks. Oversized bags over 160 cm need a reserved seat with an oversized baggage space, free if booked ahead.
