Sumida Aquarium Ticket in Tokyo

4.7 ratedTraveller favouriteInstant e-ticket

Sumida Aquarium lives inside Tokyo Skytree Town, a moodily lit, design-forward aquarium famous for its open penguin pool, one of the largest indoor examples in Japan, where dozens of Magellanic penguins wheel around at eye level. The Ogasawara big tank and the goldfish gallery round out a compact, beautiful hour and a half.

Why it works

It is the ideal Skytree pairing: book the tower for the view, drift down to the aquarium after, all indoors and all within the same complex. Evening hours run later than most aquariums, and the lighting after dark suits it.

Tickets

E-tickets skip the counter, and combo pricing with Skytree appears seasonally. Weekday evenings are the calm window.

Getting there

Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu line or Oshiage on the subway, both feeding directly into Solamachi. From Asakusa it is one stop or a riverside walk.
