teamLab Borderless Tickets: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM

4.7 ratedTop 10 in TokyoInstant e-ticket

teamLab Borderless at Azabudai Hills is the wandering one. No map, no set route, just a labyrinth of rooms where the artworks drift out of their spaces, down corridors and into each other. The Infinite Crystal World and the lamp room you have seen all over social media live here. It rewards getting deliberately lost for a few hours.

Tickets and timing

Like Planets, this is timed-entry and advance-booking territory, with tickets released around two months out and weekend slots vanishing weeks ahead. Once inside there is no time limit. Go early on a weekday if you want the famous rooms without a queue of phones, or embrace an evening slot when the moody rooms feel their best.

What to know

  • Artworks move and change constantly, so no two visits are identical. If a room is crowded, drift on and loop back.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: you will cover more ground than you expect, and some floors are reflective.
  • The En Tea House inside serves a tea where flowers bloom in your cup as you drink. Do it.

Getting there

Borderless sits in the Azabudai Hills complex, a short walk from Kamiyacho Station on the Hibiya line or about ten minutes from Roppongi. From Tokyo Station allow 25 minutes by metro. The complex itself is worth a wander, and Tokyo Tower is 15 minutes on foot if you want to stack the evening.
