Tokyo Skytree Ticket

4.7 ratedTop 3 in TokyoInstant e-ticket

At 634 metres, Tokyo Skytree is the tallest structure in Japan and the second tallest tower on earth. The Tembo Deck at 350 metres gives you the whole Kanto plain, and the Tembo Galleria, a glass spiral at 450 metres, is the highest publicly accessible point in the country. On a clear winter morning the view runs all the way to Mt Fuji.

Deck or Galleria?

The standard ticket covers the Tembo Deck, which honestly delivers most of the wow. The combo ticket adds the Galleria, worth it if you want the full height and the walk up the glass spiral, skippable if you are watching the budget. Timed e-tickets let you walk past the ticket counters, which matters on weekends when the queues get serious.

When to go

Visibility is king here. Winter gives the crispest air and the best Fuji odds, mornings beat afternoons, and the hour before sunset into night is the crowd favourite for the same reason as everywhere else in Tokyo. If the day turns hazy, the night view of the city grid is the safer bet than a daytime visit.

Getting there

Tokyo Skytree Station on the Tobu Skytree Line sits directly underneath, and Oshiage Station on the Asakusa and Hanzomon subway lines connects through the Solamachi mall at the base. From Asakusa you can simply walk it in about 20 minutes along the river, which is a lovely approach. The Solamachi complex below has a solid food hall for afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy at the door? Yes, but timed online tickets skip the queue and can be cheaper than walk-up rates.

How long does a visit take? 60 to 90 minutes for the Deck, add half an hour for the Galleria.

Best photo spot? The glass floor section on the Deck, and the river walk from Asakusa for shots of the tower itself.
