BOSS E ZO FUKUOKA is what happens when a baseball team builds a playground. Standing beside the home stadium of the SoftBank Hawks on the Fukuoka waterfront, this multi storey entertainment complex stacks attractions from rooftop to basement, including thrill rides hanging off the building itself, and it has quickly become one of the city’s favourite family outings.
The rooftop carries the headline acts: a tube slide that plunges down the outside of the building and elevated attractions with views over Hakata Bay for those with steady nerves. Below them the floors work through team experiences at the Hawks museum, virtual reality and esports zones, a teamLab digital art space and floors of food, with the mix of paid attractions varying by level. Tickets cover different combinations, so match what you book to the attractions your group actually wants.
On Hawks game days the whole precinct buzzes with fans in yellow and white, and combining E ZO with a baseball game makes a brilliant Fukuoka evening. On non game days queues are shorter and the rooftop attractions easier to walk onto. Either way, evenings bring the best light over the bay.
The complex adjoins the PayPay Dome in the Momochi district. Take the Fukuoka City Subway to Tojinmachi Station and walk about fifteen minutes toward the waterfront, or catch one of the frequent buses from Hakata Station or Tenjin that stop outside the dome.
