Nago Pineapple Park Tickets

Nago Pineapple Park is pure, unapologetic Okinawan kitsch, and it knows it. This is a theme park about pineapples, complete with self driving pineapple carts, a pineapple greenhouse, pineapple wine and more pineapple sweets than you thought the fruit could support. It takes about an hour, it makes everyone laugh, and it has become a cult favourite stop on the drive north to the aquarium.

The pineapple cart experience

Visits start with a ride in an automated cart shaped like a pineapple, which trundles you through gardens and plantations while a cheerful narration explains the fruit’s history on the island. From there a walking route winds through tropical plantings and photo spots before delivering you, inevitably and expertly, into the tasting area and shop. The free samples are generous, the pineapple cakes make good gifts, and the theme song will stay in your head for days.

Worth the stop?

Treat it as a fun forty five minutes rather than a destination and it delivers every time. It sits right on the main route between the expressway and the Motobu Peninsula, so it slots painlessly into an aquarium day. Kids love the carts, adults enjoy the tastings, and nobody leaves without at least one pineapple product.

Getting there

The park is on the outskirts of Nago in northern Okinawa, about an hour and a quarter from Naha by car via the Okinawa Expressway. It is a few minutes drive from the Neo Park zoo, and local buses along Highway 84 toward Motobu stop nearby, though nearly all visitors arrive by car.
