Northern Okinawa now holds two heavyweight attractions: Churaumi Aquarium, long the island’s crown jewel, and JUNGLIA, the jungle theme park that opened in 2025 amid the forests of the Yanbaru region. The TokuToku Pass bundles them together with extra perks, packaging the north of the island into one purchase for travellers making the drive up from the resort coast or Naha.

What you get

Churaumi needs little introduction; its vast Kuroshio tank, patrolled by whale sharks, remains one of the great aquarium sights anywhere, and the surrounding Ocean Expo Park adds beaches, gardens and viewpoints for free. JUNGLIA takes the opposite tack, using the jungle itself as the ride: adventure attractions, canopy scale thrills and a spa with infinity views over green hills. The pass’s exact inclusions and validity are maintained on the booking page, so confirm the current lineup and whether your visits can spread across multiple days.

Getting there

Okinawa has no rail beyond Naha’s monorail, so the north is car territory: roughly two hours from Naha to the Churaumi area via the expressway, with JUNGLIA in the same broad region of the island. Highway buses do serve Churaumi for the licence free, but a rental car is the honest recommendation, letting you add Kouri Island’s bridge or the old castle ruins at Nakijin to the same loop.

Frequently asked questions

Can both be done in one day? It is possible but punishing; a night in the north makes the pair far more enjoyable.

Best time for Churaumi? First thing at opening, before the tour buses land.
