VS PARK turns the variety show challenges you see on Japanese television into things you can actually play. The Fukuoka branch, inside the LaLaport shopping complex, packs dozens of activities into one indoor arena: sprint against a projected predator, dodge, bounce, climb and generally embarrass your friends, all with your admission covering as many rounds as you can manage.
The signature game pits your sprinting speed against an animal charging across a huge screen beside you, and it is far harder than it looks. Around it are bubble soccer style games, reflex walls, balance duels and a rotating line up of tech assisted challenges designed so that fitness helps but laughing hard is inevitable either way. Everything is short and rotation based, so groups keep moving and nobody stands around long.
Wear sneakers and clothes you can move in; some activities will sideline you in sandals or skirts. Weekday sessions are noticeably quieter than weekends. Since you are inside LaLaport Fukuoka, you can refuel at the food court afterwards and visit the life size Gundam statue standing guard outside the complex.
LaLaport Fukuoka is a short walk from Takeshita Station, one stop from Hakata on the JR Kagoshima Line. Buses also run from the Hakata Station area, and there is plenty of parking if you are driving.
