Awaji World Park ONOKORO

ONOKORO is Awaji Island’s cheerfully old school amusement park, best known for its miniature world zone where the Taj Mahal, pyramids and dozens of other landmarks stand at strolling height above Osaka Bay. It is small, sincere and exactly the right speed for families working their way around the island.

Around the world in an afternoon

The miniature garden lines up famous structures from every continent at one twenty fifth scale, weathered just enough to feel loved, with the real sea sparkling behind them for photos no indoor model village can match. Around the miniatures run gentle rides, a ferris wheel with bay views, zip lines and seasonal attractions, plus craft experiences indoors when the weather argues. Nothing is queued, nothing is overwhelming, and small children in particular treat the whole park as built to their scale.

An Awaji day

The park sits on the island’s east coast near Tsuna, combining easily with Awaji’s food stops, flower parks and the Naruto whirlpools further south. Awaji onions will appear at lunch whether you plan it or not; accept this.

Getting there

Highway buses from Kobe’s Sannomiya cross the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and stop within reach of the park; local buses and taxis cover the final leg. A rental car remains the easiest way to string Awaji’s scattered attractions together in one day.
