Overview

Fuji Rock Festival is a music festival held every year, organized by Japanese rock music events promoter Smash Japan. It began in 1997 and was held at the base of Mt. Fuji. However, starting 1999, the event has been held at the Naeba Ski Resort located in Yuzawa in Niigata.

A three-day affair that features over two hundred rock musicians from Japan and other parts of the world, the Fuji Rock Festival falls on the last weekend of July and is consistently attended by over 100,000 rock music enthusiasts each year.

The Fuji Rock Festival is a magical event and is the place to be. Fuji Rock Festival 2017

In 2017, the Fuji Rock Festival will be held from July 28 (Friday) to July 30 (Sunday) at the Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture.

Tickets

There are three kinds of tickets available for the festival: 1 Day, 2 Day, and 3 Day.

A 1 Day Ticket costs 19,000 yen, a 2 Day Ticket costs 36,000 yen, and a 3 Day Ticket costs 43,000 yen. Junior high school students and children below 15 years old can enter for free as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Artists and Musicians

Fuji Rock Festival 2017 will feature numerous local and international music artists on its stages on three eventful days.

The green stage lineup includes foreign acts like Gorillaz, Lorde, and Bjork, and local artists, such as RADWIMPS, and Group Tamashii. On the white stage, performances by Train, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, and Ozawa Kenji are scheduled. Transportation

By public transportation, you can get to the Naeba Ski Resort by taking a train to the Echigo-Yuzawa Station. From there, take a shuttle bus to the festival site.

By car, the Naeba Ski Resort in 33 kilometers from the Kan-Etsu Expressway Tsukiyono Exit via Route 17 or 21 kilometers from the Kan-Etsu Expressway Yuzawa IC via Route 17. The closest parking areas to the site are the Festival, Shirakaba, and Asagai parking areas, which are all a few minutes away on foot, while the Mitsumata and Tashiro parking areas are a short shuttle bus ride away.

Reminders to Festival Attendees

Be in your best behaviour at the festival. Remember that you and the people around you are there to enjoy music. Be respectful and considerate.

  • Only park your vehicles in designated areas. Only smoke in designated smoking areas.
  • Do not leave your belongings unattended, as those may be considered abandoned and be disposed of right away.
  • The use of umbrellas, tents, and other objects that may obstruct the view of the people behind and around you are not allowed. Recording equipment and selfie sticks are also prohibited.
  • Do not consume too much alcohol. Do not cause a scene. Anyone who goes out of control may be thrown out of the festival site.
  • Take note of items that are not allowed to be brought into the site. Do not bring fireworks, glass bottles, cans, explosives, and illegal drugs.
  • Because mosh pits, crowd diving, and the likes are likely to injure or hurt festival goers, they are not permitted at the event.
